This policy explains how refunds and cancellations work for Zanshin's paid plans: Pro, billed monthly ($6.99) or yearly ($69.99), and Premium, billed monthly ($19.99) or yearly ($199). The free Basic plan has no charges, so there is nothing to refund. This policy is part of our Terms of Service.
1. Free trial: nothing to refund
Every new account gets a 7-day Premium trial that is free and needs no card. Because you are never charged for the trial, there is nothing to refund. When it ends, your account moves to Basic and keeps its data, unless you choose a paid plan.
2. Your first paid-plan payment: 7-day refund
If you ask within 7 days of the date of your first Pro or Premium charge, we will give you a full refund of that first payment. This applies whether it was a monthly or a yearly payment.
- This is available once per customer. Opening new accounts to get it again is not allowed. We may treat accounts that share a payment method, email address or other identifying details as the same customer.
- It applies only to the first paid-plan payment. It does not apply to renewals, or to a later switch between plans or between monthly and yearly.
- When the refund is issued, your subscription ends and your account moves to the free Basic plan.
3. All other payments
Renewal payments, and requests made more than 7 days after the first charge, may be refunded, in full or in part, at our discretion. We will always correct duplicate charges and charges made in error by us.
Nothing in this policy limits any rights you have under the consumer-protection laws that apply to you.
4. How to request a refund
- Open Zanshin Support, the support assistant on every page, and ask for a refund. If your payment qualifies under section 2, Zanshin Support processes it automatically.
- You can also email zanshinfounder@zanshintraders.com from your account email address, giving the date and amount of the charge.
Refunds go back to the original payment method through our payment processor, Stripe. They usually appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
5. Cancelling a paid plan
- You can cancel at any time from Settings → Manage billing.
- Cancelling stops future renewals. On its own, it does not refund the current period.
- Your access to your plan continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. Your account then moves to the free Basic plan. For a yearly plan, that means the end of the year you paid for. Unused months are not refunded, except under section 2 or at our discretion.
- We email a reminder before each yearly renewal, so you have time to cancel.
- Your data is kept. Trades, screenshots, reviews, goals and calendar history stay in your account. Paid features, including the Premium role in the Zanshin Discord community, stop when the plan ends.
6. Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, Stripe may retry it over several days. If it still cannot be collected, the subscription ends and your account moves to Basic with your data kept.
7. Chargebacks
If you don't recognise a charge or think it's wrong, please contact us first. We can usually fix it faster than a bank dispute, and a refund through us reaches you just as quickly.
- If you do open a chargeback or payment dispute, we will respond to your bank through Stripe with the relevant records: the subscription, your consent to the renewal terms, sign-in activity and any refund already made.
- While a dispute is open, the account may be moved to Basic. Your data is not deleted.
- If the dispute is decided in your favour, the payment is returned and no further action is needed. If it is decided in our favour, you may restart a paid plan at any time.
- Filing disputes for charges you authorised and used, instead of cancelling, may lead to the account being suspended under our Terms.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The version in effect when you made a payment applies to that payment.
